We had been in the meeting for a while now, and we were no farther along. Darius was in the middle of explaining his connection to the necklace when he broke down. I was there that day, so I know what he's going through, which is why I don't push him. He seemed to be struggling, but Wynter went to his aid immediately. Not even missing a beat. She helped to pick him up, but I was surprised by the sudden change in emotion. He went from being a broken man a few minutes ago to a nearly hostile one.
