‘What the hell are they talking about?’ I thought when Diamond mentioned something about his mother’s death.
I huddled in the corner of the living room, knees tucked to my chest, a blanket pulled tight around my bare body. My whole frame shook, and I whimpered like a frightened animal as I watched Logan and Diamond clash. Logan’s fists came down hard, landing Diamond a brutal punch one after another, his voice raised in furious shouts as Diamond groaned in pain and tried to block him. Each punch made me flinch, the sound echoing like thunder in the room. My fear grew with every blow, convinced that when they were done with each other, they’d turn on me next.
