Chapter Eight: Investors

"Monica, wait up!"
Molen turned to Flynn after she heard him call out to her. She said not to call her Monica, but the young man was naughty. He was getting into Molen's nerves but acknowledged all his advice a while ago. She needs to fix a lot of what she’s cooking, and she’s heard a lot of help from Flynn and Calyx.
She waited for Flynn to approach her even though she wasn't sure if it was sensible to say. How many times has she given up today? Molen couldn't understand herself anymore.
“I have another investor in mind. We can make a presentation to them aside from Calyx.” Molen frowned. "You're improving your dishes, and I want to help you,"
"Why?"
“Because I believe in you, Monica. Trust me, and I promise I won't do anything that can harm you or your business. I want to help you.”
Molen crossed her shoulders under her chest and looked intently at Flynn. Questions start popping up like whether one should try trusting them or not. Molen couldn't decide. She sighs deeply.
“I’ll think about it. I want to prioritize this project first. But we're not friends yet, Sandoval.”
"Understood."
"Thank you for today." Flynn smiled at her and waved his hand. She just turned around and continued to ride her electric bike. It didn’t rain anymore, so she quickly maneuvered it back to the Molecules Café.
Calyx was smiling from ear to ear when Flynn entered his office. Flynn knows the main reason for that, and his friend is not convinced about why he told him before Monica arrived. Everything was planned, from the order to the project they would develop. Flynn said that if he and Monica disagreed on his previous business deal, he would work out a way. The way he thought was to use Calyx to get Monica to collaborate with them.
"What?" he asked the friend after sitting on the couch and picking up the can of beer.
“You’ve changed, Flynn. Josh is not lying after all.” Calyx rested with him on the couch. “But why are you so interested in Ms. Tejada?”
“We have an unfortunate past, that’s why. I called her dessert rubbish, and she ruined my car. ”
"It's like a child's fight, dude!" Flynn laughed, but it was true. He and Monica had a childish fight, and he knew he was still annoyed with her up to this time. “This is not revenge. You kissed her and made her life miserable.”
"That was because she wrote an article about me, but this isn't about taking revenge."
"Do you like her?"
Flynn nodded. He didn’t like Monica, and it was vague that that would happen. “She’s too regular for me. I like those girls that are aggressive, especially in bed.”
“Don’t you want to change your perspective this time? You've been subject to some online rumors about your gender preference.”
"Do I have to date publicly to prove that I'm a straight guy?"
“Maybe, but Ms. Tejada won't pass your standard, or should I say, you won't pass hers?”
Flynn flickered his two middle fingers at his friend. He said goodbye to leaving because he was so entertained by what they were doing all day. Calyx is a famous chef, and his job is to help those small businesses that have potential. When Flynn told her about Monica's post, his friend got curious and asked him to call her, but because of their unfortunate past, he couldn't do it. In the end, the friend did everything to make the collab happen, which was his plan.
Flynn now wonders if the decision was right, even though it was hard to tame Monica. He loves a challenge, but Monica is on different levels that he cannot tame easily. Flynn has to put in a lot of effort.
“Partnership?”
Molen's cousins couldn't believe their words after explaining why she was late outside. She said for a while that she’d deliver some orders nearby, but it was almost dawn when Molen returned. She mentioned the meeting in which the comrades were, another unbelievable them. How can she not believe it? Only Flynn can collaborate on a project led by Calyx Yuchengco.
“It’s another chance for us, Vina, Abbey. We will be able to entice more customers, so I agreed not to collab with Flynn. I only accepted the proposal of Calyx Yuchengco. I said I would think more about what he said.”
He saw Vina and Abbey looking at each other. Molen wants them to recover from her failures because of being hard-headed in the past. The partnership with Calyx was the answer there, even though there was the possibility that she could work with Flynn.
“Are you sure about that, Molen? You hate the guy.” Abbey reminded her how much she hated Flynn Sandoval.
Why did her heart suddenly soften for him? Molen thinks that maybe it’s because of what she told him a while ago, and he wants to help her. To make up for the misunderstanding between the two of them before.
"I'm sure I'm in the deal with Calyx Yuchengco, but I'm still thinking about the one with Flynn, so maybe just one for now."
“Think hard, Molen. We are here to support you, so I don't think you need Sandoval anymore,” said Vina.
“I also think about that. But for now, I'll focus on remastering my dishes. They have comments, and I want to apply that.”
"You will not sleep?" Molen's two cousins bet on who would brew coffee for him. In that scene, Nana Rosa caught up with them and volunteered to mix and take care of Molen while studying Flynn and Calyx's insights. She has to perfect her dish to get a positive review from Calyx. That’s what she all needs right now to boost her confidence that was once lost due to comments Molen received, not from Flynn. Many people rejected her because of that, and Molen couldn’t forget all that.
Flynn's review is clear, so now I'll listen to him this time.
