Micah’s pov “What do you mean you couldn’t find him?” Jack was infuriated. I couldn’t take my eyes off the throbbing vein in his temple. His jaws clenched and unclenched as he glared at Carter. It was apparent he was trying to contain his frustration. At least I wasn’t the one who had to face that. “There was no sign of him. We tried to look for anything—his shoes or clothes. But there wasn’t even a speck of blood. They couldn’t have cleaned the blood so soon. I doubt that was the right place he fell,” Carter said. Despite being able to maintain a neutral demeanour, my heart skipped a beat when Jack’s icy gaze met mine. “Micah. Are you sure you saw him fall off that cliff?” he asked me. I nodded my head. “I know what I saw. He lost control of his wings while he was trying to fly.”
