Kane’s POV
‘So where did you disappear to last night?’ Marcus asks me, as we huddle together on the edge of the ice, shooting the s.hit whilst we wait for the start of practice.
I shrug, ‘home’ I reply evasively.
My best friend glances at Dalton, the two of them sharing a look that annoys me.
‘What?’ I mutter, tightening the straps on my gloves just so I don’t have to look at either of them.
‘You went home’ Marcus repeats, ‘alone?’
I hesitate because I’m not one to lie but I did promise Brandy I wouldn’t tell anyone about us.
‘I didn’t take a puck bunny home, no’ I retort finally.
