After five minutes of running, I circled around and am now almost back to where we were attacked.
The sight that I see makes me want to destroy everything in sight. I slow my pace and walk over to where James's body lies.
“f**k!” I shout.
We’ve been friends since we were children. This is not how it was supposed to end for him. Tears blur my vision. I take a deep breath and let it out. It comes out shaky.
I search his pocket and take his phone out. I dial Max’s phone and wait for him to pick up but my eyes move to where James's fingers move.
My eyes widen and I immediately put my ear to his chest.
Faint heartbeats can be heard.
“James!” I shout.
I can see his eyes moving in an attempt to open but they don’t.
“Hello?” Max's voice comes from the phone.
