Steve had been excited all day about his dinner with Americus. He ignored his parents' calls, he's sure they're calling about arranging a marriage that would benefit them and the company. So far, the women they have selected, he wasn't attracted to them. That's another reason he ended up settling with that crazy woman who doesn't want to accept that their engagement has been canceled.
