Bayley looked around the courtroom, turning her nose up at everyone. When she sees a woman enter the courtroom with a silk scarf wrapped around her face, she laughs. Bryson and Rod look at her. Even the court reporter looks at her, thinking how cruel Bayley is.
Bryson leans over to her, “You can at least show some compassion. Damn, don't you know people are watching you?”
Her head snaps, looking at him. “Why, I knew exactly what I was doing. I’ve seen the way she looked at my husband. Talking about her needing some time off to spend with her mother, who was in the hospital, I’m no fool. It was the same days you two were away. “ She cut her eyes at Livia. “She was lucky that was all I did to her.”
Everyone in the courtroom was gasping, looking at her.
