Lola . . The apartment was nice and big. It was a two-bedroom apartment, and I wondered who was supposed to stay in the other room. Raphael did pay my sister’s hospital bills and she went in for the surgery. But just like every other time, she remained unconscious—remained stuck in that coma state. Evening had come, and I was in the sitting room, my eyes constantly drifting to the clock. Raphael said he would come to the apartment and then he would speak about his preferences. My heart thumped in my chest, thousands of thoughts coursing through my mind. What could he possibly be into?
