*Analiza Valdez
It's been a week since I fainted. I wasn't allowed to go to work. Lucas put me on bed rest for two weeks.
I'm glad that Lucas is like an older brother, but sometimes he worries too much.
"How you holding up?" Miah questions as she sits next to me on the couch.
Apparently, Miah is my 'babysitter'. Lucas says she's here to make sure I'm resting. Since the kids are at school, expect for the twins, she is able to watch me.
Jaylynn and Jamie, the twins, are asleep in their cribs. The baby monitor is on, just in case they wake up.
"Well, I'm super bored and cranky." I groan. "Please let me leave this house, at least for a little bit."
"Ana, you know I would, but Lucas won't allow it. He may be your friend, but he's also your doctor and he knows what's best for you in your condition right now."
"I'm not even that big. I just want to go buy some stuff. Please?"
"Honey, you're not big, you're huge. Though, you are pregnant with more than one baby. How far along are you again?"
"About six month, give or take."
"Whoa, you look like you're ready to pop." Miah laughs.
"Whatever. Can you prepare a bubble bath for me please?"
She smiles and nods.
I watch as she walks down the hall into the bathroom.
I quickly and quietly grab my purse and head out the door.
I decide to walk since the Central Mall is only ten minutes away. On the way there I see a mom and her daughter holding hands. It makes me smile, knowing that could be me in three months. Then I remember my health problem and my eyes start to get teary. Oh, I really hope I get the chance to hold my babies even if it's the last thing I do.
Pushing all the depressing thougts aside, I realize I'm in front of the Central Mall.
First store I enter is Baby 'R' Us. I may not know the gender of my babies, but I could still buy some stuff. I go straight to the cribs. There are all different kinds of sizes, textures, and colors.
A worker comes up to me as I stare at each crib, "Hi, Ma'am, My name is Kale. Is there anything I could help you with?"
I turn to see a blond man with striking gray eyes. He looked to be in his mid-thirties. His smile was so wide, it almost made me want to laugh.
"Hmm, sure. I don't know what their gender is but I still wanted to choose some things for them to have when I bring them home." I explain more than I need to.
"Yes, of course. When you say 'them', you mean twins, right?" Kale asks, leading me somewhere.
"Triplets, actually." I smile.
"Well, congratulations. If you would look at these cribs. These are the bigger cribs for multiple children unless you want to buy each baby a crib."
"Um, no, I was looking for one crib big enough for all of them. They will need space so the bigger the better."
"Of course. Is there a budget that you would like to stay at."
"No. Money is no problem." I chuckle, nervously.
I may have lost my job but I did save some money. It may leave me broke but I need to think of my babies first.
I rub my stomach as I think of holding them in my arms.
"-is your best choice."
I realize that Kale had been talking as I hear the ending of his sentence.
"I'm sorry, can you repeat that?"
"Yes, I was saying that this crib is your best choice. It is big enough for triplets and it's unisex. The design is beautiful and it's on sale." Kale explains as he points to a crib.
I stare at the patterns and the texture of the crib. It really is breathtaking.
"Okay, I'll take it."
After doing paperwork to have the crib shipped to Lucas's house, I thank Kale and head to the clothes section.
I find some bottles, socks, blankets, and the cutest bibs ever.
I also bought some toys, pacifiers, and diapers.
I wasn't sure about buying a stroller yet, but Kale was there to convince me otherwise.
By the time I left that first store, I was ready to go home. My feet hurt and felt swollen. Besides, I pretty much spent all my money on the cribs and stroller.
As I was leaving, I considered calling Miah since I didn't want to walk, but as I searched for my phone I realized I didn't have it.
Hmm, no wonder I hadn't got any calls. I am pretty sure Miah has called Lucas, who is probably mad and worried right now.
"Hi, again."
I look beside me to find a smiling Kale.
"Oh, hello."
"Um, I don't want you to think I'm stalking you or anything. I just happened to clock out from work and I saw you standing here so I was curious as to why? Do you need a lift?"
I debate about accepting his offer. Then I remember my aching feet and I quickly say yes.
Kale leads me to his black Chrysler. He helps me with my bags and opens the door for me. Of course, the stroller and the crib are going to be delivered to the house so I didn't have lots of shopping bags.
It was quiet as Kale drove. It was when his hands on the steering wheel that I realized that he had a wedding ring.
I let out a breath of relief. I seriously thought he wanted to get some action even though I'm pregnant.
I mentally laugh at my crazy thoughts.
"Well, we're here. Let me get your door and help you out."
He comes over to my side and helps me up since his car is low.
Kale and I take my bags from his car as the front door opens.
Of course, I didn't miss thst Lucas's car was in the driveway. There is also a mystery vehicle.
Standing at the door was Lucas, Alejandro, and my boss. Standing behind Lucas was Miah, looking guilty.
Lucas looks mad but relived.
Alejandro looked worried.
My boss looked confused.
"Kale?" My boss questions.
I turn to look at Kale then back at my boss, "You guys know each other?"
Kale looks at me, "Yeah, we're kind of family, actually."
"How?"
"Kale here is married to our brother, Aaron." My boss explains, smugly.
Before I could reply, a voice cuts me off.
"Analiza Evelina Valdez!"
I silently groan when I hear Lucas mention my full name.
Here comes the lecture.
