Jovan howls so loudly in my head when Jenetta announces that she’s going to reveal her wolf that my heart rate spikes in response. Over the pounding of my heart and the blood rushing through my ears, I barely hear the growled ‘Mine’ that echoes through the room. Along with everyone else in the room, I turn to see where it came from, and my jaw drops in surprise when I realize it’s Bastian.
He looks even more stunned than I feel as he stares at the women on the crates, and my stomach drops painfully hard at the idea that Jenny is his mate. A strong, bitter disappointment stirs inside me, a feeling so intense I can barely process it, followed immediately by guilt.
