When I wake up it is late afternoon and I see Alice sleeping peacefully next to me , her tousled hair falls down her back like a waterfall of fire and her snowy skin looks so soft it is almost unreal. What just happened between us can only be described as the most extraordinary experience I have ever had in my life , and I know , without a trace of doubt , that my life has changed irretrievably and from today there will always be a before and after Alice.
As I look at her soft breathing , I can't help but remember my mother's words the day after meeting her , as soon as I entered her room she gave me a bright smile , the kind that I had not been able to see in her for a long time , and that caused that I smiled in response almost like a reflex , then she took me by the hand
