I was surprised, but happy that she hugged me before we entered the city. I wrapped my arms around her and simply enjoyed holding her in my arms. I knew this most probably was a friendly hug. Perhaps she was saying thank you for being by her side. But for me, it meant the world.
Smiling, I cherished her. The softness of her skin. I took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of her hair. Only one thing was on my mind. That I wanted to protect her from harm. I would not let Killian, or anyone else cause her any harm.
