“They forgot to tell you my favorite color and my favorite spot,” I said, tilting my chin up slightly, masking my unease with indifference. For a moment, there was silence. Then… Kael chuckled, a deep, amused sound that sent a shiver through me. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, his piercing gaze never leaving mine. “Oh, that?” he said. “I figured that out when we changed you.” My breath caught. Changed me. The words sent a wave of discomfort through me. My fingers twitched at my sides, my skin crawling at the thought of someone, him, changing my clothes while I had been unconscious.
