I couldn’t help the grin that tugged at my lips as his eyes widened like I’d just told him I could command the stars. “Don’t look so shocked, wind boy,” I teased, nudging his shoulder lightly. “You didn’t really think I only used blue flames and water, did you?” Zeph blinked, clearly processing what I’d said, and then muttered, “You mean to tell me you’ve been holding out on me this whole time?” I shrugged, pretending to study my nails. “Maybe. Or maybe you were too busy glaring at anyone who dared breathe near me to notice.” That earned me one of his dark, warning looks — the kind that used to send shivers down my spine but now just made me want to laugh. “You’re impossible,” he said under his breath. “I know,” I replied sweetly. “But I'm strong, so you can't do anything about it.”
