I could feel my heart pounding inside my chest. I have told Nick that I wanted to be his wife in every sense of the word, and now, as he stares at me with confusion, lust, and something else, something resembling love.
"Nick?" I mumbled his name, but instead of answering me, he reached out to me and picked me up in his arms. "Nick?" I muttered, my entire body feeling numb with anticipation, fear, and excitement at the prospect of the unknown.
