9 - MY Alpha

1630 Words
Meghan The Omegas were busy working on the finishing touches for Hailey’s ball. Hailey and her w***e mother were walking around the dining room with the party planner going over the finishing touches when I walked in. “Hello, Hailey.” I smiled brightly at her. “Are you excited for your ball tonight?” She nodded enthusiastically. “I wonder which one of the visiting Alphas will be your mate.” I raised my eyebrow at her and gave her a sly grin. She squealed with excitement and opened her mouth to say something when The Luna cut her off. “Meghan, are you so rude as not to address all of your superiors when you enter a room?” Luna Julianna looked down at me, and my blood began to boil. She did not deserve to be Luna. “Julianna-” I started. “It’s Luna to you.” I paused for a second, that word getting stuck in my throat. “Yes, Luna.” I managed to spit out. “I was just so excited for princess Hailey tonight that I had tunnel vision only for her.” As stupid as it sounded, I used the word princess because I knew Hailey loved it. Hailey beamed at me, “Yeah, Mom, stop being so dramatic.” She waved her mother away and linked arms with me, leading me to the ballroom, gushing the entire time about her outfit, hair, and makeup and the men that would fall at her feet. I oohed and ahhed at the perfect moments, keeping her interested and talking. This was one of the first chances I got to be alone with her, and I could tell we would get along just fine. When we finished walking around the ballroom, I turned to her and took her hands in mine. “Why don’t you go head upstairs and start getting ready then? The guests will be here before you know it.” She nodded and bounced away. “Oh, and Hailey?” I called out behind her. “Yes?” She turned around. “Let me know if you need anything at all. I’ll be a call away.” “Thanks so much, Meghan. Is it?” “Yes, Hailey. I’m here for anything you need. I’ll see you later.” I gave her a wink and turned back to surveying the ballroom. That went better than expected, and I was filled with a renewed sense of joy, knowing I had her on my side. Now that Hailey was occupied, I walked past the dining room to see that The Luna and the party planner were deeply discussing napkin arrangements. I quietly turned away towards the stairs to meet with my Alpha. Halfway up the first staircase, I heard a voice call out to me that made my stomach turn. I plastered on a smile and faced her. “Meghan?” Luna Julianna said with hate in her voice. “Yes, Luna?” My voice was cold, and I didn’t take a step down. “As an Omega, you are not permitted to use the main staircase. Use the Omega elevator or the back steps instead.” I froze, angrier than ever with her. “Off you go then, or do I have to order you?” She c****d her head to the side and stared at me. She knew that any pack members, excluding the Alpha, couldn’t ignore a direct order from the Luna. I walked down the stairs taking my time, not breaking her stare. I turned past her down the stairs and picked up my pace to the elevators. I closed the door behind me and hit the button to the Alpha’s floor, off to f**k that b***h’s ‘mate’. The elevator door dinged, and I made my way to my Alpha’s office, knocking twice before I heard his deep grumble saying to come in. I knew he was expecting me. I plastered a seductive smile on my face and opened the door. I turned to lock the door behind me and give my Alpha a view of my ass when it was pushed open, shoving me to the ground. I looked up to see Julianna’s pissed face glaring at me. “What is the meaning of this?” Alpha Benjamin roared behind me. “I didn’t know you had company, or should I say a f*****g slave, in here to do your chores.” “Julianna.” Benjamin came around the desk, about to help me up, but he paused when he saw her staring. He sighed, “Meghan is the lead Omega; she is to be treated with respect for her position.” “Oh, all hail the leader of the slaves,” Julianna mocked, throwing both hands in the air. “Shall I take a bow to one of the lowest members in the pack? Shall I, mate?” She spat at Alpha Benjamin. “Meghan and I have some things to discuss, pack-related things that need to be dealt with today. This is official business, and I will not have you getting in the way of it.” He stated calmly, on the verge of raising his voice. “Why not get Janice back? She was a lovely lead Omega and had the experience and submissiveness that is needed from the lowest pack members.” The Alpha winced when she mentioned her name. “She left of her own accord. I’m not one to stop a pack member from returning to their family,” he said flatly, “Now, Meghan and I do really have important matters that need to be discussed before this evening, my dear.” “Well, then, I guess you can call her when she returns to the basement because I have some things to discuss with you that have to do with our daughter.” She retorted, crossing her arms. “What are you still doing here!?” She glared at me. “You filth are dismissed from my mate's office.” I could sense, at least I hoped, that the Alpha was about to protest when we heard some giggles behind the door. My Alpha’s face went red with embarrassment, or was it anger? He stomped toward the door, flinging it open, almost breaking it off the hinges. The Luna and I jumped back. The Alpha looked both ways and slammed the door shut behind him, glaring at us. “I’m not sure why you two chose to make a f*****g scene today, but I’m not having it.” He looked between us; I wasn’t sure what I did wrong. “Now get the f**k out of my office,” he roared—an order. We both submitted to his authority - forced to obey. “Meghan?” He asked as I was about to follow Julianna out of the room. I turned around, hoping he was asking me to stay with him in front of his ‘mate.’ “Figure out who those Omegas were that were stationed to clean this floor. I want names. And a punishment, listening in on the Alpha’s conversations, why that would have been unheard of with the previous Alpha.” He trailed off angrily. “Yes, sir.” I nodded my head and left. I gave one last look to Julianna before I turned to the Omega elevators. “Ugly w***e,” she muttered as the elevator doors closed behind me. I would enjoy stripping her of her title in front of the entire pack. I just had to bide my time. I slammed the door to my office behind me. The phone rang, and I debated ignoring it. I was shaking with rage at Julianna; my mind flooded with thoughts of me being the new Luna and her having to move her s**t out of my Alpha’s room. Of course, she might have to be dead for me to take over as Luna. But that didn’t mean that a girl couldn’t dream of her feeling as low as she made me feel. I took a deep breath to calm my anger and picked up the phone. “Meghan, before we were so rudely interrupted,” the Alpha said. I let out a little giggle calming down a bit, “I wanted to discuss this evening and the Isla incident.” “Go on, Alpha.” I’m happy that he is getting rid of her; the sooner she's gone, the better for me. “I have made the necessary arrangements for her this evening. Make sure she goes to the clearing where the pack warriors train. Tell her to be there at midnight, the party will be in full swing, and most of the Omegas will be dealing with that.” “Yes, Alpha.” I played with the bottom of my ponytail. “She goes alone.” His voice left no room for discussion. “No one is to follow her, not even you. Do I make myself clear?” “Of course, Alpha.” I responded, unsure of why he didn’t want me around for this, “Are you sure you don’t want me to escort her?” “I’m absolutely sure no one but Isla will be heading to that clearing.” “Will you be there?” I asked almost in a whisper. I didn’t want him alone with her. I couldn’t have her charm him and change his mind about banishing her or wanting to sleep with her. “Yes. I-” He got cut off by a door banging, “Does no one know how to knock anymore?” He roared. “Midnight, she goes to the clearing. Alone.” He hung up the phone.
