Dorian showed up at Ember on a Tuesday.
Sadie was behind the bar going through invoices when he walked in. She looked up, looked back down, then looked up again.
"You don't have a meeting near here," she said.
"I do actually."
"Where."
"Two streets over."
"That finished an hour ago."
He sat down at the bar. "How do you know when my meetings finish."
"I don't. I'm guessing based on the fact that you've been standing outside for twenty minutes."
Dorian looked at her. "I wasn't standing outside for twenty minutes."
"Fifteen."
"I was looking at the building next door."
"For fifteen minutes."
"It's my building now. I'm allowed to look at it." He picked up the menu even though he'd been here enough times to know it by heart. "Can I get a coffee."
