It felt like an eternity since I last spoke to my mate. After the doctor left, I watched my sister and her boys. Within the first hour, James' fever broke, and I called the doctor to inform him. Ashlyn and James were still sleeping, and Donny fell asleep after dinner.
I only left the room when Charlotte or Hazel could watch them. It was now well into the night, and my boys were sleeping.
I expected the guys to be home hours ago, and my stomach twisted tighter with each passing hour. What could they have found? Did they find her? I tried to track her but came up empty. Something was blocking my magic, and I suspect it was lead.
When I felt Brandon was close, I could breathe again.
"Babe?"
"I'm home. We are in the kitchen," he replied to my mind-link.
"I'll be right there."
