Carter couldn't believe Emilia was in front of him. He had been dreaming, thinking, haunted, of the memories of her. She was all he could think of, his dream plagued of the beautiful moments between them. Being with her, loving her, had changed Carter in a way he hadn't fathomed until he lost her.
It hollowed him out and made him feel like nothing mattered.
