“Arius! I am perfectly capable of walking from the bed to the door,” I say as softly as my irritation will allow me. He ignores me all the same and continues to fuss, watching my every step with a look of concern. It had been two weeks since the stabbing and I was beyond relieved that Dr Venn had finally discharged me from the hospital. I knew he could have done it sooner but Arius wanted to run more tests and triple check everything was okay with me and the baby before he would even consider it.
