I walk around the grounds of the territory, feeling nothing but deflated. What was I doing with my life? I’d left my home in London to come out here on what I told my parents was a sabbatical. I was only planning to stay for a few weeks and help Alina get settled into her new life here but then Darius happened and I stayed. But now what? I am the only human living amongst a pack of wolves and I love them all to bits but I can’t help but feel like I don’t belong.
I miss the simplicity of my previous life. Before I knew about the craziness of the supernatural and the wars and politics between them. But could I really go back to that life now, knowing what I know?
