Adrian always had a way of making me melt, whether I wanted him to or not. It was his deep sweet voice, his persistence, or maybe that disarming smile that made it hard to say no.
I didn’t want to go out today, but he insisted. He didn’t say much about why, only that it was important. I resisted at first but eventually gave in. Harper was thrilled, of course, she loved any outing with her dad, no matter the destination.
