With Eloise's family in Paris and surrounding areas for the foreseeable future, and Dante leaving us alone, Eloise and I manage to enjoy our marriage without feeling guilty or defensive. We simply get to enjoy each other. Remembrance Day has passed and we agree to decorate the following weekend. Throughout the week Eloise and I both pick up Christmas decorations because we agree between the two of us that what I have isn't enough—I only have a Christmas tree and lights, as well as some outdoor lights which I installed one day while Eloise was at work. It was dark by the time she got home so she got to see the lights in all their glory. She was beaming as bright as the hot filaments when she came inside.
