All this time, I sat and listened to Betty explain what had happened and what was planned once the crystals were up to full strength. I slowly remembered it all. It is a mystery to me why my memories did not come back when we mated. It could have been because Betty had yet to finish the breaking of the curse that was over the city. I call it a curse for lack of a better word. I had no idea what the bubble around the city was, or how it was created, only that the invaders had managed to put us in this huge bubble that cut us away from our natural source of life-giving energy.
