The phone calls started before I even got back to my office.
"Sophie, it's David from Hartwell Industries. Just saw the news about your marriage. Listen, we need to talk about our contract renewal."
I hung up and immediately another call came in.
"Miss Lawson, this is Jennifer Walsh from Morrison Group. We're concerned about the stability of Lawson Enterprises given recent events."
I set the phone down and looked at Patricia. "How many calls?"
"Fourteen in the last twenty minutes. All from clients or business partners."
