The front door opened and I heard voices in the hallway. Mom and Dad walked into the living room first, followed by James. Mom looked worried, but Dad and James both looked ready for a fight. I hugged all of them.
Alexander walked in carrying a tray with coffee cups just as they were getting settled.
"Where are the agents?" James asked.
"They should be here soon." I sat down on the couch. "Alexander gave them an hour."
Dad raised an eyebrow. "What exactly did he say to them?"
Alexander set the tray down on the coffee table. "I reminded them that justice shouldn't wait while dangerous people walk free."
"Did you threaten federal agents?" Mom asked, looking concerned.
"I explained the situation," Alexander said calmly. "They understood."
