"Shane!" I yell in between my tears. "Open your eyes. Please open your eyes."
He doesn't.
I painfully get on my feet. The attacker is motionless, just like Shane, and his gun is lying a few feet beside him.
I fight the urge to claw at him, mainly because my hand is broken, and i fall on my knees beside Shane.
People are gathering after hearing the gunshots but i ignore them. I bend over Shane and i use my good hand to feel his pulse. It's slow, barely noticeable and fresh tears spill down my cheeks.
"Shane? Shane!!" I whisper in his ear but he doesn't move.
Oh my God.
