I closed my eyes and took a deep and long breath, this headache is killing me and I have a meeting minutes from now. B’wesit talaga ang Andrei na ‘yon, hinalo ba naman ang mga alak doon sa bar niya. Ang gago talaga.

I scanned the papers in front of me, this is the first meeting that I’ll be attending since my arrival. We always have our monthly meetings through video calls. I let Marcus do all the works here when I was in the U.S, and I’m pretty impressed with his performance, except for these reports now.

Patuloy ako sa pag-scan ng mga reports, these bastards thought they could get away with what they did. Hindi ibig sabihin na nasa ibang bansa ako ay p’wede na nilang pagnakawan ang kompanya ko. I’ll get to the bottom of these and send these fools straight to hell.

“Sir, the meeting’s in ten. Ito na po lahat ng pinakuha n’yo,” she said and place all the things I told her to get. Much as I want to go home, I don’t have much time, I still need to review the reports.

Tumango ako at tumayo na para lumabas, but I was halted when I saw her bending over the cabinet. Her behind was waving at me and the tiny skirt she’s wearing hitched up making her butt visible in my eyes.

Napailing ako at deritsong lumabas sa opisina. I entered the conference room with an air of arrogance and authority. I maintained this image ever since I established Paradise Palace Hotels, and so far, I’m enjoying this They should know better than mess with me look.

I took the chair in front and looked at the board members present in this meeting. I will not allow these bastards to feast on my money. I smirked and nodded at the person in front to start.

My eyes were closed the whole time the report was being presented. My head was pounding hard and I wanted to go home already.

Last night was a blast, and I hate to admit but I missed those f*ckers. Andrei and Winston are my college buddies, they are one of the few people that I trusted and we’ve already seen each other naked butts. Kaine and Samuel on the other hand, are just business partners that turned to be good companies.

“Mr. Chairman, do you have any questions regarding this project?” I opened my eyes when I heard Joel spoke.

Lahat sila ay nakatingin sa akin. Curiosity and confusion are drawn on their faces, they are actually waiting for me to lash out and asked harsh questions. But I’m not in the mood for that today, I just wanted to go home and see Claire. God, I missed her.

“None, just continue,” I urged him to go on with the report. Parang nag-alangan pa ito kung anong gagawin. Not used to me being this silent. Madala ay ginigisa ko ang presentor ng mga tanong.

“Sir, tapos na po ang report ko,” sagot nito. Tila kinakabahan ito sa sinagot.

“I’ll review this. Meeting adjourned.” I dismissed them and close my eyes again.

Damn, headache!

I heard them got out of their seats and in a few seconds, I was left alone in the conference room. Alone at last.

I settled my back in the chair and thought of Claire, her flushed face, the sweet smell of her neck, and how she glared at me when I tease her. I know this is illegal, thinking and lusting over her is inappropriate. But can you blame a man for admiring such beauty?

I remember calling her name last night in the middle of intense pleasure, and I’m not even a bit guilty of doing it. It felt so good shouting her name when I c*m, and I think I’ll be doing that again. The pleasure is much more intense and I’ve never had that kind of release ever since, not even when I was with Sylvie or Selene.

I was brought back from my reverie when my phone rang. I heaved out a deep sigh when I saw my mother calling. She’s been bugging me for days and I was intentionally dodging her calls.

“Hi, mom.” Started to the door as I answered my phone. I made my way back into my office.

“Hijo, Sylvie’s arriving later. You have to fetch her in the airport,” saad ng ina ko sa kabilang linya.

Napahilamos ako ng mukha sa sinabi niya. I forgot that Sylvie will be here for mom’s birthday, but why should I be the one to fetch her? I can just send my driver to the airport.

“What? No! That’s so ungentlemanly of you to do that. Dapat ikaw ang sumundo sa kanya. She’s your girlfriend,” naghihisterikal niyang sabi. Her tone was a bit higher this time.

Agad kong inilayo ang cellphone sa tainga ko. Mom and her voice are one of the things that give me stress these days. Her demands for me to get married and settle was really getting into my nerves. She wanted me to propose to Sylvie already even when I told her that we already broke up. She thinks Sylvie is the perfect woman for me.

“I told you already, mom. Sylvie and I already broke up. We’re just good friends now.” Binuksan ko ang drawer at kumuha ng Advil. I opened the packet and downed it with water.

“You can still get back with her, hijo. That’s why you need to impress her. Be a gentleman and get her there,” she nagged me. Her voice started to rise a little more and I know naiinis na siya sa akin. It’s actually one of her talents. Raising her voice, telling me she’s pissed and if it won’t work she’ll use her sullen voice at me.

“Mom, you can’t dictate to me what to do, especially when it comes to marriage. I’ll get married in my own time with the woman I choose,” I said with finality. I can’t just let her maneuver my life just like they did to my brother. I’ll choose the woman I wanted to marry.

“In your own time? You’re almost 40 for god’s sake! Nauna pang magkaka-anak iyang kapaid mo kesa sayo. You will get Sylvie in the airport!” she shouted and ended the call right after shouting at me.

Napatitig ako sa cellphone ko. She just dropped the call. I shook my head in disbelief. I guess I really did piss her this time. I dialed her number again, a few rings then she answered.

“Yes, I’m mad at you. At kung hindi mo susunduin sa airport si Sylvie ay magtatampo ako sa’yo. I will not talk to you again! Ever!”

She cut the call again, ni hindi man lang ako nakapagsalita. Naiiling na ni-dial ko ang numero ng kapatid. Isa pa ‘tong kumag na ito. Hindi pa rin nagbabago. Please remind me how many times did I save this f*cker’s ass.

Nagpapakasarap siya doon at ako dito ang sumasalo sa lahat ng kalokohang ginagawa niya.

“Bro, Sylvie’s arriving tonight. You need to come back here.” Agad na sabi ko sa kabilang linya.

With Sylvie staying here, this changes everything. That woman is the real definition of pain in the ass.

Napakunot ang noo ko nang hindi kaagad ito sumagot. I looked at my phone to check it the call was connected and it was.

“Antonius,” I called his full name. I’m pissed right now.

“Nasa banyo pa si Niu, Seb,” babae ang sumagot sa kabilang linya.

Bumuntong hininga ako nang makilala ang boses nito.

“Tell him to call me as soon as possible. Tell him he needs to come home.” I said. I immediately cut the line and took a deep breath. I frustratingly run my hands in my hair.
