I yawned as I exited the event center. It's already past nine, and I've just finished work. I'm hungry, tired, and sleepy, but the feeling is fulfilling because I enjoyed the whole event. Aside from the new job and new friends I've made, I'm happy because I learned a lot. Many of my questions were answered by my fellow models, who are somewhat veterans too. They even included me in the group of models to learn more about the job. The event only lasts for three days, so I've already started asking them if they know of any gigs. I don't want to be idle; I want my work and income to keep flowing. "Come join us, Cecilia," Mimi invited me. "Isn't it embarrassing for your boyfriend?" I hesitantly asked. I'm worried I might disturb them. "That's not it. Your transportation fare would go to waste, and your trip home would be more comfortable if you ride with us," she persuaded. Well, I still have a few more jeepney rides before I can finally get home. I'm really tired and sleepy. It's already late, so I agreed. They said they would pass by our place anyway, so I wouldn't be a bother. We crossed the street, and Mimi's boyfriend was already waiting there. He was tall, handsome, and he looked formal. Based on his fancy car behind him, I'm sure he's well-off. Mimi is really lucky with her boyfriend. He also looks kind and sweet. I couldn't help but look away as they hugged and kissed. As for me, I wonder when I'll get to experience something like that. "Cecilia is my shovel. She's with me at the event," Mimi introduced me to. Her boyfriend smiled and shook hands. "It's okay, really, if we're bothering you." "It's fine. Our route is also going there. Just join us until the last day of the event." I smiled. I'm entering the vehicle when I notice from a distance the silhouette of a man looking in our direction. He's leaning on the outside of his car, like a model. He's tall and somewhat big in build. It's quite dark, and some of the lights around aren't very bright, so I can't see his face clearly. Is he looking this way? I got into the car. As the car started moving, I looked out the window. We happened to pass by the guy from earlier. My eyes widened when I recognized him. Jetro! Right, it's him! No wonder I felt something different earlier, even though I couldn't quite recognize him yet. What is he doing here at this hour? Is he waiting for me? I glanced back at the rear of the car after we passed him. The truth hit me again. I confirmed that what I was thinking was wrong when a girl approached him. I could only manage a bitter smile. But it's okay that I saw it. I might not be able to sleep all night, thinking about why she was there. Most likely, I'll think that I'm really the reason. There you go again. You're not being careful. I thought you were going to forget? Jetro, I spent several days trying to forget you. I saw you earlier, and you've messed up my mind again. What did you do to me? I think I might be going crazy. This morning, I still got up early despite the pain in my legs and feet from standing for a long time at work yesterday. Can I endure standing for eight hours? I asked myself while feeling my whole body. I took a deep breath. You can do it! For the dream! Go, Cecilia! I cheered myself on. This is really how it was in the beginning. Once you get used to it, standing up like that becomes a piece of cake. I'll get used to it too. What's important is having a job and money in my pocket. I've already taken a shower, got dressed, and hurriedly left. It's Saturday today, and I might get stuck in traffic. I rode a tricycle to get to the crossing towards the MRT. The line of passengers extends to the road, but it seems like it's moving fast. The sun is quite hot now; that's why I keep wiping off the sweat forming on my face. It's a good thing I decided to wear civilian clothes first because I anticipated this kind of situation today. I wouldn't want to go in with my uniform damp from sweat. It's just the start of the work, but I already look worn out. It's embarrassing to be labeled as a B.A s***h model while smelling of sweat and looking haggard. The line moved quickly until I was able to board the MRT. I arrived at work early. I first went to the restroom outside the event center to change into my uniform. Then I faced the mirror to start fixing my face. I took out the eyebrow pencil Almira gave me back then. Before I drew a line, I glanced at the woman beside me, who seemed to be an expert at applying blush to her face. The woman also glanced at me, so I quickly averted my gaze. I drew an arch on my eyebrow using a brown pencil. I paused and felt embarrassed because I really don't know how to apply it. Yesterday, Aileen just fixed me up. I looked again at my companion, who was smiling while applying blush. She did her eyebrow really well. Her eyeshadow is also quite noticeable. I smiled at her and once again focused my attention on my own face. In her reflection in the mirror, I saw her furrow her brow as she looked at me. "Do you want me to fix you up?" she asked me with a friendly tone. "Really?" I asked in amazement. "Like how you're styled?" I asked her. I really liked her appearance. She nodded and gave a slight smile. "I gave her the makeup kit from Almira." "Wow! You're even using high-end brands," she exclaimed upon seeing the contents of the makeup kit. "Uh... it's just a gift from a friend." She nodded and started choosing from the makeup items. She erased the eyebrow I had drawn earlier. She applied the serum from the makeup kit before putting on primer and other products from the kit. I really have no idea about those makeup things. One of the things I should learn is how to apply makeup, even just the basics. I can't believe it as I look in the mirror. I'm amazed at my appearance and at Kaye who did my makeup. No offense, Almira. She's better at doing makeup than you. I kept thanking her when we both came out of the restroom. "Just remember what I showed you," she said before we parted ways. While she was fixing me up earlier, she was showing me the correct way to apply it. The work started, and the number of people at the event doubled compared to yesterday. I still feel the pain in my feet, but I don't mind it anymore. I focused on the work. I want to reach my quota for the day and, if possible, even surpass it. I did sales talk and pushed the product to the fullest. Before breaktime, all of us had already reached the quota. My two colleagues and I had lunch together. We talked about our life plans and the gigs lined up for next weekend. I'm really grateful that they reserved a slot for me in the upcoming event. The rate is the same, with food and transportation allowances and bigger incentives. This job is really enjoyable. "Cecilia, someone was looking for you earlier," my colleague said after we finished lunch. "Who?" I asked, furrowing my brow. She was listing her sales, then handed the record book to our team leader so she could take a break. "I don't know him. Tall, handsome, delicious, and wealthy," she replied with excitement in her voice. She raised an eyebrow as she spoke. I wonder who that could be. There are plenty of tall, handsome, and wealthy guys here. They always use those descriptions. Could it be that Adrian passed by here again? Or maybe it's someone else? I took a deep sigh. I'm at work, and I'm thinking about all sorts of things again. At 5 o'clock, a colleague signaled me. He's pointing to something in front and saying a word that I can't even understand. I looked at what he was pointing at. Captivating, handsome, and seemingly wealthy, just like the descriptions they use. "Hi," the man greeted me as he approached. I politely greeted him back and held onto my product. He smiled at me and slightly put two fingers on his chin. I began my sales talk. He just kept smiling as I spoke, fully focused on me and what I was saying. I don't usually get nervous with other customers I sell to, but with him, I felt a bit of unease. Just a little bit. "Give me twenty bottles," he said, making my eyes widen. It's unlikely he'll use all of these. "Wow, sir. Your girlfriend or wife will surely be happy with you," I said. "Too bad, I don't have a girlfriend or wife," he replied, and chuckled softly. "With your good looks, Sir, I'm sure you'll easily find a girlfriend," I replied. Suddenly, I felt comfortable around him. He smiled at me. "Do you think so?" he asked. "Of course, Sir. You have such a strong presence," I complimented him. Wow, he's really being humble, or maybe he just wants me to praise him. "I feel like I don't want to believe what you're saying," she responded. There was amazement on her face. I furrowed my brow. "Sir is really something. You're so humble." He laughed again, making himself even more handsome. "Bjorn." We both turned to the person who spoke in front of us. Tasha smiled at me. She was with Adrian. Adrian and my customer were nodding at each other. They seem to know each other. Bjorn called me over again. I remembered he was buying twenty bottles of lotion, so I quickly grabbed the mini push cart beside me and placed the lotions in it. "Thank you, Sir," I thanked him. "You're welcome. My name is Bjorn, by the way," he introduced himself. "I'm Cecilia," I introduced myself with a shy smile on my lips as the eyes of the love birds in front of us were focused on us. After getting the cart, she also said her goodbyes promptly. She nodded to Adrian and Ate Tasha before finally turning around while pushing the cart.
