Chapter 51
"Courtney...." Ryder says, starting towards us.
Jack keeps pushing me back protectively. "What are you doing?" he asks. "Are you working with them, too?"
Ryder's eyes narrow into slits. "Does it look like I am? I'm trying to get my girlfriend out of this place before it's swarmed by the SWAT team that's waiting right outside. So get out of my way."
He roughly pushes Jack to the side and grabs onto my arm, but before he even has the chance to turn around, Jack delivers a blow right to the side of his face. Ryder pauses and purses his lips together. He lets go of me and turns to face Jack who's got his fists raised, ready for a fight.
"I'm not here to fight you, Hartwell. You're wasting my time." Without another word, he grabs my arm and drags me towards the front gate
