(Esmeray POV)
"Well... In my last life, I am sure you heard the rumour that I... well um... I killed the king", towards the end, his voice turned into a whisper.
"I did. Was it really you?" I stared at my mate who took a huge raspy breath.
"It was me. Even in this life, it was me."
There was a short silence between us. He looked up at me and I could see the fear in his eyes.
"Alec?" I called as he hummed.
"I am sorry. You must think of me as a killer". His voice was shaky as he ground his teeth, his eyes never leaving mine.
