Every time those doctors moved towards Kafele’s cell, my heart was in my throat. But once again, they would keep walking and I would feel conflicted with relief and frustration. Yes, I wanted to get out of here and even though I hadn’t spoken a single word to him, I trusted my mate with my life. But another part of me was relieved that they were leaving him alone. That he was safe for another hour or so. What if his plan didn’t work? What if they killed him or took him away and I never saw him again?
