Axel's POV
What am I supposed to do now? Do I take Louise to her parent's or take her home? Damn it! I don't know why I'm doing this anymore... this is too much hassle for me.
I recheck my watch, Miranda's waiting for me at home. I don't want her to feel hurt or something. Miranda's my chosen girlfriend, after all.
I want Miranda to be happy with me, but I also can't ignore Louise. She's still officially my fiance after all.
"Whatever your thinking, please don't bring me home, Axel! Just take me anywhere," Louise says in a begging voice. I'm surprised because she never begs me. She's always demanding.
"Why would I listen to you? Look at what you did!" I snap at her. Louise will drive me to my death if I continue to entangle with her.
"I don't mean to," Louise whispers, looking down at the floor. Maybe I should continue to admonish her so that she'll learn her lesson. "Just don't bring me home, please. You can take me anywhere. Hotels, bed and breakfast, or you can stop here too."
"Do you think I'll do that to you? f**k!" I can't help but curse. Louise is someone that I care, but taking care of her is just like taking care of a problematic teenager. She's twenty-six years old, for God's sake!
"You're angry with me," Louise stares at me.
"I'm livid!" I say to her as I grab my hair in frustration. I lean my head on the seat and just stare at the car roof. "But I can't trust you to your own devices. Knowing you... when will you grow up?"
I stare at Louise, and she becomes pale. I sigh.
"If you don't want to be called immature, grow up. You're no longer a child," I tell her sincerely.
"I'm not... I'm a matured person," Louise says to me. "I... you don't have the right to talk to me this way!"
"See? This is what I mean! You're angry because I said you're immature. Anyway, let's stop this conversation, and I'll take you home with me."
Louise looks elated. "Thank you!"
"Behave." How am I supposed to explain this to Miranda? Luckily, Miranda's a very understanding woman. She'll surely understand.
**********************
Louise jumps down the car faster than me.
Can't she act a bit ladylike? Not like some goon or thug. I shake my head, she's a hopeless case. I watch her look around, eyes wide.
This is her first time here in my mansion.
"You can stay here for a few days until we find you a home," I say to her. I'm going to find her a new place where she can stay. I'll even pay for it. Louise is too stubborn to asks for her parents to help her.
They're filthy rich, and they can support the only daughter. I frown, I don't really get Louise. What drives her to travel around? She can live a luxurious life.
"Can I just stay here at your place until I leave again?" Louise turns to me, a full-blown smile on her lips. "I mean, I won't bother you, and it seems you have enough room in this mansion!"
I frown. "Leaving again? When?"
"Maybe next week," Louise answers me.
"So soon?" I blurt out. I feel reluctance of her leaving in my heart, this is making me uncomfortable.
"Yes, didn't you tell me if I stay here that I'll only cause trouble?" Louise pouts as she stares at me. "It's best if I leave soon."
"Ugh," I grunt before pinching her cheeks.
"Owww! Owww! Ouch! It's pain... ful," I laugh as I stare at her red face. Louise is funny as she tries to speak with me, her words are not clear. I pinch her face harder.
"So, you're going to get in trouble again?" I pinch harder. Louise pushes me away and jumps on me. Her legs hoist on my hips as she punches me on my shoulder. We laugh out loud together.
This is pretty normal for us. We always try to one-up each other, and it didn't change throughout the years. I try to capture Louise's hands.
"What are you doing?" A small voice interrupts us. I look at the speaker and my mind blanks. I put Louise down immediately.
"What? Scared of me?" Louise poses before me. I guess she didn't hear Miranda. She looks at where I'm staring, and her eyes squint.
"You're Louise, right?" Miranda smiles at her. I feel happy inside, Miranda's very kind. I smile at her, clapping in my heart for choosing such a wonderful girlfriend.
"And you are?" Louise sounds rude, I frown and look at her. Can't she become a bit warm and not sound condescending?
"I'm Miranda Gale," Miranda raises her hand for a shake, but Louise only stares at it.
"Ah, so you're that Miranda Gale, Axel's latest barbie doll," Louise scoffs. "I didn't know you like to play with barbie. I thought you're allergic to plastic?"
I gasp when I hear her say the words and my head snaps to Miranda. Her hand is trembling mid-air, and she hurriedly hides it behind her. Miranda's eyes are glassy... it's clear that she's trying to stop her tears.
"What are you doing, Louise?" I whisper. "You should at least be polite with her! She's my girlfriend."
Now, it's Louise turn to grow pale.
"What?" Louise is irritating me. I stare at Miranda, and my heart softens up. I approach her and take her hand in mine. "Are you okay, baby?"
"I'm fine, babe. It's nothing," Miranda's voice is loud against the silence of the night.
"No, it's not fine! That was downright rude!" I glare at Louise. I know she can be playful and I allow her some leeway but not this time.
"Rude? Don't you think that you're the rude one?" Louise sounds strangled. I frown, what the hell is her problem? She's clearly rude and uneducated!
"Apologize to Miranda now," my anger is rising up and if she doesn't apologize, damn it! I don't know what I'll do to her.
"Why would I?! And why is she here?" Louise asks me.
"She's staying with me this weekend," Axel says to me. "We're supposed to be having fun together, but because of you making trouble I have to leave her."
"You!" Louise sounds angry. Her face is red, and she's biting her lips. I sigh. f**k, if I force her to apologize, we'll never get it.
"I'm fine, no need," Miranda intertwines our hands. I smile at her, and I relax.
"I'm letting this pass because of Miranda," I say to Louise. "My butler's here. He'll help you to your room."
"Axel!" I didn't look back. I just drag Miranda away. Anyway, the butler's there. "Axel!"
