4295 Words

Irina Darkness and burning were all I could discern for a while. I’d burnt vampire venom from my system before, but each time made me vow it would be the last. When I finally came around, I wasn’t on the ground outside ruined warehouses but securely held in Quinn’s arms, all wrapped in his scent. He’d come for me. I didn’t deserve it, but I was grateful. He didn’t seem mad, or at least not mad enough to tell me off as soon as I opened my eyes. I’d felt his anger and fear through the bond before I’d passed out. I had let myself drift off again to complete the healing, feeling safe, cradled by Quinn’s warmth. The second time I had come to, Quinn had been shifting restlessly. He’d told me to go back to sleep which I did without a fight. This time, I blinked at the brightness that met me.
