Chapter 3

REN The limo turned into the darker part of the road. He could faintly smell the shifters, and it was to be expected, because he knows that there's a pack of werewolves in this area. That's why Ren is wondering why the local witches choose this place for his lodging. Is this merely a coincidence or they're scheming something? Well, either way, Ren doesn't care. Why would he? Its not the first time this happened to him anyway. "Didn't they say that the shifters and the witches in this country were not getting along so well?" Ren spoke up, but immediately regretted speaking up when the trees cleared up and a large mansion came into view. It was simply majestic. A grand fountain sat in the center of the cobblestone driveway. The stairs is gleaming, leading to open wide double doors. The garden's tall trees and shrubs hid the whole area from any wondering eyes. It's a waste that no one knew a wonderful place was hidden here all along. "There's a report stating that there is indeed a local pack here but it didn't say what Pack is it. It's just a small pack, though and they're peaceful. I check them, before coming but didn't get the name of their pack. It was not enclosed to the public. But I think there won't be a problem, there have no infractions reported in this pack and besides their pack mainland is several miles farther down near the mountains. And they don't typically set their houses near a town." Walking up the stairs, Ren looked over the mountain side, his golden eyes glowing. "Hmn, that is reassuring. But we're also at least an hour away from civilization, right? " Taking a deep breath, he suddenly felt more safer. That was an interesting feeling, one he hadn't felt before. "Shifters usually build their pack lands four to five hours away from city or towns." Takashi followed after him, gesturing for him to move towards the main door. "Besides I don't smell any shifters around the area." That's what you think... He keep on walking, completely mesmerized with the house interior design. He love western houses. And this house, he loved it already. He kept his smile on the inside since the attendees of the house were watching. They bowed slightly as they passed. Several were wearing the typical butler attire the others were in maid uniforms. Some were humans some were not. He acknowledged them all with the slight tilt of his head. "Greetings everyone. I thank you all for the warm welcome. And I hope what Rafael did will be enough to make an impression to all that I may not have been a good leader but I at least expect you all to give me your respect. That's all I ask of you." Ren let his eyes glow, and watch the staffs bow their head to him, completely acknowledging his words. That should do. Clapping his lean hands together, "I know that the night is still young, but I'm quite tired already I would like to go to my room and rest. Thank you." They stood there in shock—probably not expecting he would thank them. That's understandable. They probably heard what he did to Rafael. They probably expecting him to act as an evil witch king who came here to enslaved them all. Too bad for them. He's too lazy to even act as one. "Master, tomorrow you have back to back meetings with the covens in Reno, Indian Hills and Cold Spring." Takashi rattled off his itinerary, keeping pace besides him. Ren realized that he's actually following one of the cute, brown headed girl who is wearing a maid uniform. And surprisingly she's actually a human. Which is quite brave of her knowing that she's working with Supernaturals. She kept looking back at him at every second either to check if he's keeping up with her or probably she's checking him out—which would be right on the target because she keeps on swaying her rump. Ren scoffed an incredulous laugh. What a slut! This is also one of the reason why he didn't want to come back to America. In Japan, he already finished establishing his self. There, no one will pledge him with fake sincerity or even flirt with him just to earn some status. He had a life. And for a hundred thousand years, it's not easy to maintain the kind of life he wishes. Ignoring the flirting maid, Ren finally commented on something Takashi had said. "Wait. Cold Spring is only three hours away from here, right? I thought I'm just here to punished the witches that caused public disturbance and move farther through the state, visiting the most influential covens, to spread the word. Even for me, it would be difficult to visit every city within a state, Takashi." The maid stop at the end of the long hallway in front of a set of mahogany colored double doors and open it, gesturing for them to go inside and closing it when they do. But not before she gave a flirtatious wink to Ren. "The witches who get in legal trouble were from the Cold Spring coven. And yes, you need to go there to rally with their councilor to get the prisoners out of prison. They are clearly afraid of what the consequences are, if you fail to reason with the New York City's Governor. " "That's why you don't do idiotic things if you're afraid of the outcome. How stupid can they get?!!" "I understand that your frustrated Master. And it's probably just right for you to enact your rights as the Witch King and discipline them. Maybe even stripping the councilor of his title and appointing a new one. It will be a powerful message to send to covens all over the country, that you will not tolerate any unbefitting conduct. " Ren walked around his suite's amazing living area, while he listened to Takashi's incessant yapping. He really didn't care about anything regarding the Witch Community. He was too lazy to lead them. He didn't even wanted to be their king but due to some unforeseen events he unfortunately get the title. Burdened with the duties and responsibilities he didn't wished to have, Ren is lost on what to do? How he will proceed from here? Do he really need to fight for them? To protect them as a leader would? But aren't they the ones' who started it first? Why can't they accept the punishment they truly deserve? If this happened Hundred thousand years ago, Ren would probably killed them in the spot, even taking their head to those they offended to make peace. Why it's more difficult now? Why do he have to go to all this trouble just to please others without offending anyone? Dismissing Takashi without giving him any concrete answer, Ren slowly walked towards the balcony. Breathing deeply the night air, he let himself relaxed. He needed it after his very crazy day. Closing his eyes, he let the wind spoke to him. His skin tingle, and a fierce shiver struck his whole body. He could feel something, stirring, deep, deep within him. He'd never experienced something like this before. Looking back at the thick forest in front of him, he can feel that there's something out there watching him. Paranoid, he used all his senses to search the whole area but still, there's nothing. Aside from the shifters near the mountain side, there's really nothing out there. Ren couldn't really understand what's going on right now. What's really out there, that he's magic is in frenzy? Why this is happening now? ________________________
