Aria's POV
The rain kept pouring down, and the landslide showed no signs of stopping. Everyone in the village was rushing to evacuate to the temporary shelter halfway up the mountain.
The mountain path was rough and slippery. I stayed behind a group of elderly villagers and small children, making sure no one got left behind.
Suddenly, several rocks came tumbling down with the rushing water. We all broke into a run. When I saw the rocks were about to hit us, I lunged forward and shielded little Cherry, who was walking right in front of me. A jagged piece of stone slammed into my left calf. My leg swelled up almost instantly. Every step felt like someone was driving a nail straight into my bone.
