I was desperate to save Lucas from my father. So desperate that I was willing to confess the truth. I knew that this was the last thing anyone would expect me to do but under these circumstances, I had to do what I could to keep Lucas safe from my father.
"Go ahead, daughter." He urges me as he motions for the guard to pause what they were doing, "tell me what it is that you need to confess. I don't have much time to waste, so do it quickly.”
I can see the look of panic on Lucas's eyes as he waits for me to give an answer to my impatient father. I knew that this was probably not the best way to get him out of this situation but I was out of options.
