I could tell that Lucas was still hesitant to tell me the truth, which only sparked my curiosity more. I wasn't only curious; I was also anxious to find out what had been said while I was gone.
"Ever since I learned that you knew the truth about Avery and I being mates, I have tried to keep my distance from your sister." He begins to explain. "She has unfortunately noticed the change in my behavior towards her. She doesn't like that she noticed it, but she cannot control her emotions because of the mate bond tying us together."
I didn't like where this was heading. I was hoping it wasn't something threatening, but the direction it was leading didn't seem good.
