I had to pretend as though I was upset that the pregnancy results had come back negative. I did not want my father to know that Lucas and I had not slept together already. I was aware of what his reaction would be like if he ever found out the truth.
"We have been trying, father." I lie. "It is not our fault that I am not getting pregnant."
He looks amused by my words, and not in a good way.
