As soon as I appear back in my office, I feel lighter. Just seeing her after all this time has the ache that normally resides in my chest practically gone. I can't believe we didn't think of looking for her in a small town in Colorado. We assumed she would go to some place cold, but I expected her to be drawn to a big city. Fae are social creatures, although we mostly keep to our own kind. The door to my office bangs open and my father stalks inside. "Did you find her," he asks. "I did. She is living in a very Christmasy town in Colorado called Noel. Based on how she was dressed I'd say she is a doctor."
A sad smile crosses his face. She was one of the best healers the kingdom had ever seen, so it makes sense. "So you were right. She left the realm completely," he says. Sadnes
