THE DISPLAY WINDOW of K&M Ghost Eradication Specialists is littered with hearts. Pink hearts. Glittery hearts. Blood-red hearts. The sign suspended above the Valentine’s Day explosion reads:
Don’t let the ghosts of past loves haunt you.
Two-for-one eradication special.
Now through the end of the month.
I doubt Springside Township is teeming with the ghosts of past loves, but my business partner, Malcolm Armand, assures me seasonal advertising is the way to go.
Inside our office, things are quiet, if no less glittery. A trail of the stuff runs from the display window back to our conference room and work area.
