CHAPTER 49 SAIRAH I was so shocked. I was temporarily not able to react when the lift door opened. Annie and a pretty young lady screamed on top of their lungs when they saw me and Joey inside the lift. Several others were also screaming a welcome cheer at their backs. Devlin’s driver and personal bodyguard, Joey, an ex-military man, whom I thought nothing could shock him at a level that could pin him on the spot, was actually…like me…stunned at his place.  And because we had not moved an inch for several minutes, the elevator door closed again, with us still inside of it. That was the time Joey went back to his senses and I, too. “Oops, sorry, missus.” And he pressed the open button, shaking his head. “Nothing to worry about, Joey. Please, excuse my friends.” I replied, giggling.
