CHAPTER 23 – A combat session
Cherry’s POV
Ben came in the evening to pick us up from the hospital. Sam and I were both discharged at the same time. Zane was too busy to answer my calls so I sent him a text saying that we were leaving the hospital. When we were ready, Sam called Ben and he drove us back. The drive back to the academy was an echo of silence. The three of us talked very little, in fact, we spoke less than ten words. I called Zane several times on the way to the academy, but he didn’t answer, making me worried about him.
Did something bad happen to him? Is he okay?
I checked the phone countless times during the drive back to the academy, but there was no update on Zane. He could have at least replied to my text message, but there was nothing. Ben fully concentrated on d
