My foot hurts so bad. I want to cry. I want to stop and rest for a bit, hoping the excruciating pain will go away, but if I stop running, I'm dead. I have to keep running, even though the darkness around me doesn't let me see where I'm going. Even the moon is hiding between black clouds, leaving the woods around me without its blessed light. All I can see is a cold, lightless sun. It terrifies me. Looking up at it, I stumble on a root and almost fall, I grit my teeth as I hit my ankle again, right where I twisted it earlier. If I allow myself to scream they will find me. But even so, I can hear their pows hitting the ground faster and faster. The sound of their evil growls is closer now. I am out of breath.
