Chapter 3

I woke up the next day to a storm. Sadly,  school wasn't cancelled. I made my way to the shower, cranking up the hot water as I cleaned myself. After I was done, I pulled on a bathrobe and proceeded to my closet. I pulled out a random pair of black skinny jeans and a red corset top to match. I did my morning routine which was to curl my light brown hair and put some makeup on. Satisfied, I took my favourite black leather jacket out of my closet and looked at myself in the mirror. My dad would never approve, but I could almost hear my mom's squeak of glee for my outfit. I, like her, dressed lazily, usually in hoodies and shorts, but todaywas different. I felt different, like something really good was happening today. I took out my dark, knee high boots and grabbed for my bag before heading out to the garage. Not, of course, before making a small detour to the kitchen to grab my pink Starbucks cup and a bagel. I was about to cheer my successful escape from my dear father when someone grabbed me by my arm, pulling me back. I let out a sigh. "Daddy!" I greeted, acting like I wasn't caught red handed escaping the house with my outfit. His golden eyes were darker than usual, indicating that I was about to have a very loud conversation with him. "Where do you think you're going dressed like that?" I smiled at him sweetly. "Why to school of course. Where else would I go?" Dad clenched his jaw and stared me down. It never worked on me of course; the famous intimidating stare down. I grew up with it, for heaven's sake. That stare meant nothing to me. He was about to say something when my mom, who was up surprisingly early, hugged me happily. "Aren't you just so pretty in that outfit! Gavin, honey, look at her!" My mom cried, pulling away and assessing me with bright eyes. My dad bellowed angrily. "She is not going out dressing like that!" He shot back, pointing towards my outfit. "You're lucky that's all that she's wearing. I quite remember Andy complaining about Savannah dressed up,but a mere cloth wrapped around her body. Now, which outfit would you rather let her wear; this cute one or tight cloth that's meant to be a dress?" My mother was like a goddess of some sort. She always knew how to get dad off my back and I can't help but be amazed with her. Dad sighed angrily, kissing my forehead before storming inside the house. My mom waved to me goodbye before following after him. I smiled at them. Their relationship was so strong and full of love I envied them. I wasn't complaining about Castiel, but he and I were not made for each other like my mom was with dad. Pulling out of the garage and made my way to the school a huge grin on my face. - The weather didn't look like it was getting better any time soon as I parked my car up front. I made a run for cover, my bag and cup in hand as I walked to the main doors of the school. Students were cluttered everywhere as they went to their lockers and chatted away to the sides. I strut inside, my head up high as I made my way to my locker. I could feel my body vibrate happily as it felt something good was really going to happen today. I spotted Savannah who shuffled inside the school, running for her locker and running towards the east side building, late as always. The boys on the other hand were at the gym trying out for their sport, leaving me alone to my locker, sipping my coffee. I don't know what it was but I felt really good today. I closed my locker shut only to be greeted by platinum blonde herself -- so much for having a good day. Before I could react she suddenly slapped me across the face, her hand hitting my cheek and making a loud horrible sounding noise. The loud hallway suddenly turned dead silent all eyes on us. I felt my body stiffen, feeling the angry boil. Platinum was screaming about her brother, pig face, being punished because of me, but by that time all sense of reason left my body. I dropped my beloved cup and bag to the ground before slamming platinum blonde’s head against the lockers. My wolf was outraged, wanting out, but I pushed her back knowing that humans were probably somewhere watching. I couldn't but turn my eyes pitch black, my arms suddenly slamming her repeatedly on the lockers. She clawed my face, squirming and screaming at the top of her lungs, but I was an Alpha and she was just a mere she-wolf. I punched her face a couple of times, making sure to leave a bruise when I felt a pair of hands take hold of my back and rammed my head on a wall. I felt my skull crack but sucked it up. I struggled free from platinum blondes savior, turning to face her brother pig face. I pushed him away making him stumble back a couple of steps I made to punch him but Michael suddenly showed up, taking hold of pig faced shirt and throwing him to the wall. Michael pushed me back behind him, his eyes flashing dangerously. Platinum blonde was at the side clutching her head. When Michael was sure that pig faced stayed down, he looked me over. I had scratches all over, I could tell. And by the sticky feeling of my forehead, I bet that there was a huge cut on it. By this time my pack members had already formed a circle around me, shielding me for any further damage. I'd had worse injuries and frankly it didn't hurt much. Josh, I saw, was beating up an already unconscious pig face. Castiel pushed through the crowd and saw me. I had a full view of his bright blue eyes turning pitch black, his gaze finding pig face and grabbed Josh's collar, pulling him away to have a go at the battered boy. Michael didn't say a word as he stared at my face. All I could think about, though, was the fact that my dad would find out and as much as I want pig face and platinum blonde to die I didn't want them to face the wrath of my father who was sure to torture them in the most horrific way. I could feel my scratches healing slowly but the huge cut on my forehead did not make any sign of healing itself. I pulled away from Michael's hands. "I can handle myself." I grunted, standing up to my feet and dusting my clothes. Michael's jaw clenched. I saw how hurt he was that I was hurt under his watch. All through growing up, his dad who was my mother's guard always told him to take good care of me, and he did. Michael always had my back and it crushed me that he was hurting because of the sight of me. I was about to tell him that it wasn't his fault when the Principal came through the circle of bodies. He looked at me in horror, probably already imagining what my dad was going to do to him when he saw me. "Gabrielle!" He cried out, walking towards me his eyes wide. Michael stepped in front of me protectively. "Mr. Anderson, step aside I won't harm her." "Michael." I called him, trying to calm him down. He backed off, the principal walking up to me. "My office, now." He said, then looked to everyone who was watching. "Don't you all have classes to go to?" Thankfully, the crowd that gathered dispersed. Castiel was suddenly by my side, looking at me. He looked so broken at the sight of me. "I'm sorry I wasn't there-" I cut him off, lifting my hands up. "I'm fine. It's just a scratch." If there's one thing I hated, it was people thinking that I couldn’t handle myself. I took pride in being the daughter of an Alpha, and I intended to be just as strong as my mom and dad. Josh popped out of nowhere, his eyes ogling at the cut on my forehead. "I can practically see your brain, Gab." He commented. I smiled at him. "I'll heal. I'm the Alpha's daughter, remember?" I said, placing my hand on his shoulder. It's our groups inside joke, boasting about which son or daughter we were. Josh, unfortunately, wasn't a son of a Third or the Beta, but a son of a great tracker. - The principal forced all the boys to go back to their try outs which they apparently left when they heard screaming. He brought me to a big fancy room where all the officers were telling me to wait for him, saying that he had to make some calls inside his office. I shrugged, pulling out a mirror from my bag. If I thought the cut wasn't as bad as it felt it was, I was hell wrong. The gash was so big my thumb could fit in the middle. I was busy surveying my cut when the scent suddenly engulfed me. It was the same irresistible scent from yesterday. It was lush and woodsy that it sent my body into shock. I followed the smell to the vice principal's office. His door was closed shut but I could hear them. "Mr. Cohen. You've been cutting a lot of your classes without an acceptable excuse." The vice principal said, making a tsk sound. Mr. Cohen, whoever he was, didn't reply, disappointing my wolf. I sat down on the chair facing the vice principals office as the old man told off Mr. Cohen who didn't say one word. "Are you mocking me, Titus?!" There it was, that name. I bit back the excitement as my wolf heard the boy's name that had been on my mind since yesterday. There was silence until a hand slammed into a table from the office. "Get out of my office, now!" Screamed the vice principal. The door suddenly burst open revealing something I never would have been ready for. In front of me was a six foot tall piece of heaven itself. His dark black hair was tussled in that messy sexy way. He was well built, his tanned arms ripped with nothing but muscle, his dark grey shirt clinging onto his body deliciously. My heart was hammering in my chest as I slowly looked up  to his strong jaw and high cheek bones, making my mouth water, and don't get me started on those full lips of his. I had to struggle with my inner self to force myself to stay seated when our eyes finally met. His eyes were something else entirely. They weren't bright and light like Castiel's were. His eyes were shady and mysterious, a playful glint in them. We stared at each other like that as I held myself back from jumping on him. My wolf was screaming 'Mate, Mate, MATE!' I felt lost in his eyes, my heart felt as though I was suddenly complete just by looking at him. He looked at me then, shock shook him as he took me in. I shuddered as he watched me with lust swimming in his blue eyes. I didn't know how long we stood there looking at each other. I didn't really care. I could have stared at him all day and not have freaking mind. I yearned to touch him, to wrap my arms around his neck or maybe run my hand through his messy hair. I suddenly felt blood slide down my face and his eyes followed where it came from and froze. I saw the change from dusky blue to a hard marble black. You'd think that when you find your mate the first thing he would say was something romantic or something close to that but no, his canines were out moving closer to me, his eyes never leaving the gash. "Who did this to you?" He growled lowly. From where he was standing, I could feel his chest vibrate with anger.    His voice was so low and entrancing, I lost my voice. "Who did this to you?" He asked again, his voice dark and deep filled with rage. His voice was clipped, saying each word slowly. I swallowed the lump in my throat. "It's nothing." I said in a shaky voice. Titus looked as though he would kill. "My thumb could fit in that cut. It's not just nothing." He growled again, his voice on the edge. I couldn't help but admire his gorgeousness. I wanted to touch him- "Alpha Cohen," Principal Hardwick greeted him, surprised. My eyes widened. Alpha?! I screamed internally. Alpha Cohen of the Shadow Fang pack?! This cannot be happening. "Do you know Ms. Bancroft?" It was his turn to freeze, his eyes turning back to its original colour. We stared at each other like that; wide eyed and speechless. When he finally broke contact and cleared his throat, he said; "Who did this to her?" Never meeting my gaze again. "Sasha and Dylan Hemmings, Alpha." Hardwick answered uneasily. Titus' jaw clenched. "Sasha and Dylan? From my pack?" He snapped, outraged. Hardwick flinched away from him. "Those bastards." I was about to cut in on them when Titus faced me, his eyes back to their pitch black colour. Giving me one last look, he stormed off out of the office, leaving his scent for me to smell and crave for. I shook my head. No. Not him. Not the Alpha of the Shadow Fangs. Not the Mate killer. Anyone but him... but I wanted him and I ached for him. - I didn't see Titus anymore that day and neither did I see platinum who was apparently named Sasha and pig faced Dylan. Savannah came bursting into the clinic as the nurse tried to fasten my healing. Savy was never the violent type of person, she always used her words while I did all the violence, but right now, as the nurse patched me up, she looked like she could burn people with her eyes as she paced and huffed and basically swore vengeance on the Shadow Fangs which made me feel uneasy all of a sudden. Castiel visited me soon after, telling me that my father was on his way and so was my mother. My father was predicable when angry, but my mother was something else entirely when I got hurt. Werewolves all over knew my mom to be a freakishly frightening Luna. I prayed to the moon goddess to fasten my healing before my parents arrived and saw it. I closed my eyes, saying a mental prayer when the door opened. I froze, thinking it was my parents, but it was only Josh and Michael. They were all sweaty and wet. Josh flung himself at me, hugging me with all his sweaty glory. "Gabiiiiiii" He whined hugging me tighter. Michael pulled him off, laughing as he sat beside me. "How are you feeling?" He asked, looking into my grey eyes. "I just want this thing to heal." I said, pointing to my forehead. The nurse had pointed out earlier that shards of cement were stuck inside the cut, stopping my body from healing the wound, and that she’d have to remove them one by one.  "Can you imagine how your father will react? He's been looking for a reason to wipe out Shadow Fang, and now that this happened," He motioned to me. "There's no doubt he'll kill every single one of them." I bit back the pain my heart was sending me as the mere thought of Titus trying to fight my dad scared me, knowing well enough that my dad would win. "Better yet!" Josh cried. "Imagine how your mother would react." The thought chilled me to my core. My mom was about ten times more horrific when she was furious. "Josh, shut it." Michael ordered, glaring at him. Josh raised his hands up in surrender. I didn't want the Shadow Fang to have an even more heated row with the Blood Howlers. Despite everything, I couldn't breathe knowing that my dad would not hesitate to end them. The boys watched me, broken and confused beyond compared. "What's the matter?" Michael asked, concerned. "GABI!" I was cut off by my dad's call. He stormed right in, spotting me and throwing himself at me as he wrapped his arms around my small body. "You're okay." He breathed. He pulled away then, studying my face. The scratches were long gone and the goddess answered my prayers as there was only a small white line where my cut used to be. "Who did this to you?" He demanded harshly, his golden eyes dark. "I'm fine dad. I can handle my own fights." I said, annoyed. He lifted an eyebrow at me. "Gabrielle!" My mom shouted, making her way to me. She smiled when she saw me unharmed. "What happened, sweetie?" I shrugged, playing it cool. "I just had a little cat fight with a girl. It's nothing I can't handle." I assured her. My mom looked at me with her knowing eyes. I could never  lie to her. I scratched my chin, giving her our signal that meant I'd tell her the real story later when dad wasn't there. She nodded. "I'm sure you can. Did you at least ruin the girls face?" My mom said, suddenly excited at the thought of me smashing another girl's face. Ladies and gentlemen, my mother. My dad was quiet and calculating like he was trying to figure out what I was thinking. This wasn't really my first fight, to be honest. I've had more brutal ones that made this one look like child's play. "Who is she?" My dad finally asked, breaking the silence. Michael stood a few feet away from us looking at me with confusion as to why I was defending the Shadow Fangs.  "I don't really know. She's probably just a rogue or something." I was lying through my teeth and my mom knew, but didn't comment. It saddened me at how my dad believed everything I said. Without a word as he dropped the topic.   "Do you want me to do something about this?" He asked, as we were on our way home. I shook my head. "Dad, you know me. I hate it when someone interferes with my fights. It's pathetic. I can handle this, believe me."    It was almost too easy. I knew there was a catch to this, I just didn't know what. Later that evening dad went out for a run. Without wasting even a second my mom came into my room flopping herself down the bed as she asked about the girl. I told her everything. My mom laughed at the story, wanting to go and meet Sasha and Dylan's mother to see if their mother wanted to have a go with my mom. I shook my head at her silliness and kissed her. I left out the part about finding my mate, obviously, but I knew by the look that she was giving me that she knew I was still hiding something, she just didn't push it I closed my eyes waiting for sleep to take me as a flash of Titus' heavenly face suddenly appeared. I smiled, my stomach having a freaking zoo party inside.
