My heartbeat started to go faster. It was surely him. Uncle Lucas and Aunt Betty only have one child.
I sat up expecting to see Leo’s face in a couple of seconds. The dining area has its own room and was hidden from the front hall.
Uncle Lucas had already started to go out of the room when Leo, my Leo, showed up in the doorway still wearing his army uniform.
“Son!” Uncle Lucas was definitely surprised. He hugged his son quickly and then patted his shoulder. “You’re back! How come you did not tell me or your mom?”
