The Luna's Reclaimed Fate

Flare I don’t understand. I’ve been looking for Simon all day, and he is nowhere to be found and nobody’s seen him. Our entire world is falling apart and the man responsible seems to be missing in action. I woke up thinking it was going to be a wonderful day. Little did I know my mate emptied out all of our accounts, and now we can’t even buy food for the pack. I search from room to room, but he is just missing! My mind and heart are at war. My mind has seen the facts. The bank statements that Simon has been hiding from me. My heart is telling me that it’s all just a huge mistake. I knew Simon’s pack was in trouble when we got together. That’s why my parents gave us that fortune to start our new lives with. The worst part is that when I checked my personal account, I found out that it had also been emptied completely. At first, I was hoping he might be preparing a surprise, but then I remind myself that Simon isn’t like that. Then his beta came looking for me to tell me we have debt collectors at our gates, and now Simon is missing! Simon used to be very romantic, but he isn’t anymore. I haven’t gotten flowers from him in a long time. My only other option is to look for my friend April. When she isn’t in the office, I make my way to her home. April is the only single female in the pack that has a house of her own. It was Simon who suggested it. She is the Luna’s best friend after all. When I left my pack to move in with Simon, I didn’t have that many friends, and he suggested that she come with me. Her parents didn’t mind. I knock but there is no answer. I knock again and then hear something crash inside the house and I don’t wait. As soon as I open the front door, my heart skips a beat. I can smell them. I can smell what they are doing. I pray that I’m wrong, but there is no denying it. I slowly make my way to the back room, sure that they should have either heard me or smelled me by now, but there is no sign that they even know that I’m there. I close my eyes only for a second as I come around the corner of the open door. When I open my eyes, all my other senses are proven right. Simon and April both look at me at the same time. For a split second, I wonder if they meant for it to happen this way. Their naked, glistening bodies stop as the three of us just stare at each other. “Flare, I can explain!” Simon is the first to move. I want to run away, but he moves fast enough and catches me before I can get out of there. He holds onto me and tries to tell me that it means nothing. I catch a glimpse of April making her way to the kitchen. “Simon, where is all the money?!” I growl. It’s all too much to deal with, and I’m convinced my mind is going to just give out. “What are you talking about?” He frowns, not even covering himself. I look in the direction of the kitchen and then glare at him. “The pack money, Simon. My money. Where is it?” I see the recognition flash in his eyes as he sighs. “I can explain, Flare. I made some bad investments.” He looks at April, who is slowly coming closer. I keep my eyes on him. “I lost it all.” He lets go of me and I just blink at him. “I was hoping we … or you could ask your parents for help.” “Excuse me?!” I lose my temper instantly. “You are f@cking my best friend, and you want me to ask my parents for more money?!” I start to cough with fury. My mouth is dry, and it feels as if my throat is going to close up. The stench of them is too much to deal with. The stench of what they just did! “Here, this is for the shock.” April hands me the glass and I just glare at her. “It’s sugar water, Flare. Just drink it, and sit down. Let’s talk. I don’t want us to leave here until this is sorted out.” Simon is still clinging to me. “There is nothing to talk about! You’ve lost all of our money. How are we going to feed the pack?” I sit down without taking a sip. Simon sits down beside me while April disappears. He tries to explain that the thing between him and April means nothing, but April's eyes betray her jealousy. Her body language tells of confidence in her relationship with Simon. My mind races a mile a minute while I try to take it all in. I look at Simon and then at April. My mouth feels so damn dry. I can’t go back to my parents with this. All the money gone and my mate a cheating bastard! I don’t want to be here. I don’t want to see either of them. I don’t want to talk to them! I pick up the glass and drink the water. The sweet taste doesn’t make me feel any better and I jump up, pulling out of Simon’s grip. “It’s done, Simon! We are done!” I try to growl, but something is wrong. My chest tightens as though my lungs are struggling to take in air. My vision starts to blur and I lose my steady footing. As I crumble to the floor, my eyes search Simon’s, but he looks horrified. When I look at April, I see a smirk. I look at the glass. Before I can get a word out, everything blacks out. I can’t reach my wolf. I feel my strength slowly fade. Then there is nothing. Am I dead? I can't be dead! Did the person who pretended to be my best friend just kill me?! Did they steal the money and plan to get rid of me?!
