The atmosphere around felt tense for no reason at all. I had no idea what Edward was going to tell him. Or what he had been planning all along. He looked dull, even though he was trying to put a front. I could see the bags under his eyes like he had not been sleeping well. They were noticeable for quite a while now but I didn’t want to broach into the topic. For the first time I noticed how resigned he appeared, almost deflated with his shoulders hunched as he tried to muster as much energy as possible. Did something happen the night before? I thought to myself. Maybe he was just as nervous thinking about introducing himself to Aiden’s life.
