As the warmth of his body surrounded me, I sank in further, eyes fluttering shut. For a minute straight, nothing mattered anymore as his arms came loosely to wrap around me. My breath hitched in my throat as I realised what I was doing. I was momentarily stunned, not aware of the surroundings.
The hair on the back of my neck stood up as I realised people were staring at both of us. Awkwardly I stepped back, semi-aware of his heavy stare at me.
He cleared his throat, tugging at his hair when he noticed that I stepped away. I could feel my cheeks redden as he came to stand next to me. A static-like tension settled between both of us and it could be cut through the knife.
“Congratulations!” The stall owner cleared his throat, begrudgingly pulling the teddy bear. “Here is your prize.” With a proud smile on his face, Edward accepted it, ducking his head and looking away.
“No twice chance now. Shoo!” The owner grumbled, retrieving the rings from the floor.
I hid my giggle behind my palm, watching Edward who met my eyes, following my every moment. A long silence between us and I held my breath, watching as he took a step in my direction.
“Uh...here.” He handed me the teddy bear, it was soft and fuzzy and huge. My hands immediately wrapped around the toy, I hid my smile by pressing my mouth in the head of the teddy bear.
“Thank you so much...” Taking a sniff, my eyes fluttered shut and I trailed behind him. He shuffled towards another stall, timidly glancing over his shoulder.
"So what are we doing next?" I questioned him, finally catching up to him. There were a variety of stalls yet to be explored and I was excited to try them all with him.
“Fancy a rollercoaster ride?” He grinned, a twinkle in his eyes.

The thought of sitting on the roller coaster with him was making my stomach turn. Not because I was scared of the ride but of doing something embarrassing—like screaming, losing my cool in front of him or worse throwing up.
“Are you nervous?” He questioned as we stood in the queue for the ticket. “Scared?”
“Not a chance!” I goaded, wriggling my brows at him. “Can’t say the same for you though.”
He looked taken back, his head tilting to stare at the roller caster. The screams of people sitting echoed around us, almost making me rub my teeth against one other in sheer nervousness.
“I am fine, cara. But you should rethink it. There’s still time.”
My mouth parted in shock.
"You're such a jerk"
He spluttered, shaking his head at me, taken back at my sudden reaction. “Jeez! You were the one who started it.”
"Fine" I moved away from him, purposely leaning against the railing and trying to think about positive thoughts to get rid of the nervousness.
"Cara" He gritted his teeth when he noticed that I took a few steps away from him. I should not have paid any heed and ignored him for behaving in that manner but I couldn't resist. Stupid heart.
"What now?" I barked, crossing my arms against my chest petulantly. He paled at my tone, not expecting the anger radiating from my voice. But I was done for.
He winced, inching closer towards me. The tip of his shoes brushed lightly against my toe. And I could feel his breath falling on my face. I tried not to show how affected I was with no distance between us. The way his eyes darkened as if he could read the thoughts going inside my head made my toes curl. His mouth was set in a firm line, his hands coming forward to grip the railing I was leaning on. To any passerby, it would look like we were about to kiss or already kissed.
He huskily whispered, “I was simply joking. Forgive me.”
It should not be enough. But I dumbly nodded my head. The way he was affecting my thoughts was surreal. I had never let anyone control me the way he did. No one affected me as much as he did. It was crazy.
My breathing faltered as his eyes shifted towards my lips. I licked them nervously and noticed his nose flared at my action and his eyes widened slightly.
“It's okay…” I softly cooed, scared of breaking the moment between us. But as if something snapped inside him he quickly took a step back and nodded his head. I furrowed my brows. Was it something I said?
"E-Edward…" I called out his name and he sharply turned to look at me.
“Let’s go…Our ride is here.” I loudly gulped at his stare, feeling my cheeks still hot from before. It was quiet after that because I couldn't form any words.

The roller coaster ride was fun and it was something I had never expected. I was fully expecting to throw up, instead, it turned to him pressing himself against my side. My face formed into an O shape as his hand engulfed mine, stating that his nerves were all over the place.
Instead of throwing up, I was hit with a dizzy spell, legs felt like jelly all of a sudden. I was stumbling to walk in a straight line and had no option but to lean against Edward. He had to wrap around my waist, steadying me.
“Live a little!” I giggled poking his arm as he kept sulking like a baby.
“That’s it. We are not getting on any more rides. Let’s go.”
"But-"
“What if you throw up?”
"Isn't that the part of the experience?" I questioned him as we shuffled inside one of the barbeque set-up tents. The sizzling sound of the meat along with the strong aroma of spices made my stomach rumble. It reminded me that it was nearing lunchtime.
“No.”
“Ugh, you are such a spoilsport.”
“I simply don’t want to carry you to the car.” He huffed.
Edward without any word simply paid for our meal ticket and we rushed to the buffet. I mentally reminded myself to transfer my share of the money to him on the way back. Picking a dish from the rack, I joined a line.
Everything looked amazing and I was having a difficult time deciding what to get. It was an open grill so it was easy to see everything cooking right in front. Edward however was leaning towards the steak as he already had mashed potatoes and salad on the side of his plate.
"Let's eat already!" I muttered as I picked the half-grilled chicken piece from the grill. Saliva flooded my mouth as I noticed the grease on the chicken. With a heavy serving of roast potatoes and a piece of bread, I rushed to join Edward.
“Do you want to pick a table?”
“Like you wouldn’t find a flaw with that too.” I teasingly said, trying to get back at him for his previous comment. He did not look affected by it and simply rolled his eyes.
"Seriously?"
“Fine. Let's sit there…” I pointed in one of the corners, towards a table of three which was away from the grill and secluded.
He followed me to the table and we quietly ate, stealing glances at each other throughout the lunch.

It was ridiculous how we forgot the purpose of our trip so easily. After lunch we thought it was a good idea, okay fine, I thought it was a good idea to explore the jewellery stalls.
The jewellery stalls were endless and offered so many different varieties that I had to waste an hour. Edward did not look interested but he did not complain either, occasionally commenting about my choices until I glared at him and he stayed quiet.
After choosing a few earrings and matching bracelets to go with the set, I finally decided to step away from the lane. On the way out we saw an advertisement for a horror show. I dragged Edward before he could protest, a glee on my face.
By the time we were done with the horror show, it dawned on me that it was way past our appointment.
The sun was cocooned in between the clouds, the dark clouds covering her beauty. My eyes widened, sheepishly staring at Edward who let out a deep sigh.
“Maybe we can still make it?”
“Let’s see.”
“I am sorry,” I whispered as he buckled my seatbelt, breath hitching for a second. Why was he everywhere?
He chuckled, the grip on the steering wheel making his knuckles turn white. “I thought you were supposed to be the responsible one between the two of us.”
I gasped dramatically and shook my head. Because if anything I had a reputation for being irresponsible.
"Then you thought wrong.”
Thirty minutes later, we were mid-way to the bakery when I heard a screech, the car coming to a halt. I looked ahead. There was no one ahead fortunately and Edward let out a loud curse, his arms flexing.
“What the f**k!” He exclaimed, pushing himself out of the car and slamming the door shut.
I got out of the car as well and rushed to see the front of the car. My eyes widened in horror as I stared at the flat tyres, arms coming to wrap around me. I swallowed a lump in my throat, slowly turning to look at Edward.
“Please…Please tell me you have a spare.”
Edward painfully sighed, massaging his temples, “No. I always keep the spare but this is not my car.”
I let out a groan, my body shivering as a gust of cold wind passed by. How did I forget that it was Armund's car?
"Oh my god we are going to die, aren't we?" I let out a squeal, pacing around the car back and forth. I couldn't believe that we were going to die on that abandoned road.
“Aria…”
“I cannot die like this...My mother is going to kill me if she finds out...”
“Aria…”
“What about?-“
I gasped as I was pulled against a hard surface, my voice getting stuck in my throat. My eyes widened as his lips came down against mine, he started slowly, an arm coming to wrap around my waist.
Edward was kissing me. Holy s**t.
Without thinking anything I threw my arm around his neck and pulled him closer, enjoying the way his lips felt against mine. I could feel the warmth spread throughout my body as he swiped his tongue across my bottom lip. It was a sensation I could never forget, my skin prickled with goosebumps and I let out a whimper.
He coaxed my mouth open with his tongue and slowly slipped inside. I moaned, tasting the coffee on his tongue. We desperately swiped our tongues against each other, trying to dominate one another. But in the end, I sagged against him, letting him explore my mouth.
The sound of the phone ringing was enough to make us jump.
